LGBT Bar LA Joins Amicus Brief Recently Filed in the United States Supreme Court

The LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles proudly joins the attached amicus brief recently filed in the United States Supreme Court.  The brief, filed on behalf of numerous organizations committed to the equal treatment of LGBT persons around the world, highlights the dangerous and life-threatening consequences generated by the recent "Presidential Proclamation Enhancing Vetting Capabilities and Processes for Detecting Attempted Entry Into the United States by Terrorists or Other Public-Safety Threats."  The Proclamation effectively bans immigration into the United States of, among others, LGBT persons from eight countries. LGBT persons in those countries live daily under threat of persecution, including death.  This brief follows the Association's joining of amicus briefs on the Presidential Proclamation in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Fourth Circuit.  Read the Supreme Court brief here.
